Essilor Stellest 2.0 is a spectacle lens for myopia control in children. H.A.L.T. technology — a constellation of 1,021 aspherical microlenses — corrects vision while slowing myopia progression: by 67% on average in clinical studies of Stellest technology when worn 12+ hours a day. The Airwear material (polycarbonate, index 1.59) is light and impact-resistant, well suited to kids; Crizal Rock, Sun Xprotect or Prevencia coatings. Made to order.

Stellest 2.0 is the second generation of Essilor spectacle lenses for slowing myopia progression in children and teens. H.A.L.T. MAX technology: 12 rings of amplified microlenses create twice the "braking" signal for the growing eye compared with the first generation. In Kazakhstan the lenses are fitted and mounted at ALIV opticians in Astana and Almaty; order at aliv.kz.

Description

What Stellest 2.0 is

A spectacle lens for children and teens with progressing myopia. The central zone corrects vision like a regular single-vision lens — the child sees sharply at any distance. Around the centre sit 12 rings of aspherical microlenses (H.A.L.T. MAX technology) that create a volume of unfocused light in front of the retina — an optical signal that slows eye growth.

Compared with first-generation Stellest, 2.0 carries microlenses with higher optical power and asphericity: the "braking" signal volume is twice as deep and sits farther from the retina. In a one-year comparative study, eyes wearing 2.0 grew significantly slower than eyes wearing the first generation.

Clinical evidence

The H.A.L.T. platform is one of the most studied myopia-control technologies: the randomized clinical trial has run since 2018 (Wenzhou Medical University). Over two years of 12+ h/day wear, myopia progression slowed by 67% on average vs single-vision lenses; six-year data (COOC 2025) confirm the effect holds up to age 19.

Stellest 2.0 was tested in a randomized contralateral crossover trial (Singapore, 50 children aged 6–10, 12 months; published in Translational Vision Science & Technology, 2025): eyes in Stellest 2.0 grew significantly slower than in the first generation.

Wearing schedule

The effect is directly tied to wearing time: the 67% figure comes from 12+ hours of daily wear. The glasses should stay on all day except sleep, water and sports. In the two-year study, 100% of children fully adapted within one week.

An ophthalmologist check-up every 6 months.

Where to get them in Kazakhstan

Stellest lenses are fitted and mounted at ALIV opticians: Astana, 36B Bukhar Zhyrau, and Almaty, 35A Satpayev (daily 10:00–19:00). A free eye exam precedes the fitting; the salon takes measurements and marks the pupil centres so the microlenses sit exactly where they should. A frame worth up to 20,000 ₸ is included; pricier frames cost half their price.

The current pair price is on this page and at aliv.kz/en/stellest; orders can be placed online.

Frequently asked questions

From what age can a child wear Stellest 2.0?

The ophthalmologist decides based on the eye exam; clinical trials included children from age 6.

How is Stellest 2.0 different from the first generation?

H.A.L.T. MAX: 12 rings of stronger, more aspherical microlenses — twice the volume of the "braking" signal. In the one-year comparison, eyes in 2.0 grew slower.

What if worn less than 12 hours a day?

The less they are worn, the weaker the control: the 67% effect comes from 12+ hours daily. The glasses should stay on all day except sleep, water and sports.

Does it work with astigmatism?

Yes: Stellest 2.0 is made with cylinder up to 4.00 D and prism up to 2Δ.

What happens if we stop wearing them?

Published follow-up data show no accelerated rebound: the eye returns to its usual growth pace.

How long do the lenses take to make?

Made to order, 21 days. We notify you when ready.

Where can I buy Stellest 2.0 in Kazakhstan?

At ALIV salons in Astana (36B Bukhar Zhyrau) and Almaty (35A Satpayev), or online at aliv.kz. Fitting, measurements and mounting happen in the salon.

Is the frame included?

A frame up to 20,000 ₸ is bundled; pricier frames cost 50% of their price. The eye exam is free and mounting is included.
