Driving Glasses in Astana & Almaty
Lenses with a headlight-glare filter: less dazzle at night, more contrast at dusk — and full clarity, so you wear them all day, not just behind the wheel.
The entry to driving optics — ₸29,900
Gross Optic DRIVE 1.50: a selective headlight filter in a single-vision lens, per pair. Complete glasses = a tariff with the frame + an upgrade: the pair's price minus the ₸4,000 base lenses.

An exam and a talk about the road
A free eye exam at the store — and a few questions about how you drive: night or day, city or highway, hours at the wheel. Both the filter and the lens design depend on it.
The type of solution
Single-vision with a headlight filter — when one distance is enough. The Seiko Drive X progressive — road, mirrors and dashboard in one lens, with the same filter. For daytime sun — a photochromic that darkens even behind the windscreen.
Thickness
Base index 1.50 — up to ±2.00; for medium and high dioptres — 1.60, 30% thinner: Seiko Drive and Drive X come in both.
Making
The lenses go into any frame in the catalogue: the complete-glasses tariff plus an upgrade — the chosen pair's price minus the ₸4,000 base lenses. The total before payment; 6-month warranty.
Three levels of driving optics
Prices are per pair, fixed. The 1.60 versions (30% thinner) exist for Seiko Drive and Drive X.

How the headlight-glare filter works
The Seiko SRC-Road coating and the Gross DRIVE selective filter partially cut the short-wave spectrum — the very part that causes dazzle from oncoming headlights and street lamps. Headlight glare softens, dusk contrast rises. The lenses stay fully clear and don't distort colour — unlike yellow clip-on "anti-glare" gadgets, this is everyday optics, not a glovebox accessory.

For high-curvature sports wrap frames — Oakley and the like — a regular progressive isn't designed to work: Seiko Curved X is made for base curve 4, 6 or 8 (₸95,900 per pair; the 1.60 version — ₸142,900). And for active scenarios and falls — polycarbonate, 10× stronger than standard lenses: Starvision Jet Star 1.59 (₸31,900) and the aspheric Essilor Airwear with Crizal Rock anti-glare (₸99,900).

Common questions
The filter: the Seiko SRC-Road coating and the Gross DRIVE selective filter partially cut the short-wave spectrum that causes dazzle from oncoming headlights and lamps. Regular lenses pass that light through in full. On top of that, Seiko Drive X adds a progressive design calculated for a driver's distances.
No. Yellow clip-ons distort colour and live in the glovebox. The driving lenses in the catalogue are fully clear, don't change colour rendering, and can be worn all day — at work, at home, at the wheel. The filter works invisibly.
The filter reduces dazzle and speeds up recovery after oncoming light, but it doesn't remove it entirely — physics won't be cheated, and it's fairer to say so upfront. If night driving is hard in itself, start with an exam: sometimes it's not the headlights but under-corrected vision or astigmatism.
Seiko Drive X is a progressive design optimised for a driver's distances: the road far ahead, mirrors and dashboard in the mid zone, the navigator up close — plus the SRC-Road glare filter. A regular progressive is universal; Drive X prioritises the zones a driver uses every second.
Regular ones — barely: the windscreen cuts the UV that darkens them. The exception is Essilor Transitions XTRActive (₸129,900 per pair): per the catalogue card, they darken even behind a car windscreen. For sunny daytime drives that's a working alternative to a second, sunglass pair.
Yes: Seiko Curved X is made for base curve 4, 6 or 8 — wrap frames, Oakley and sports models that a regular progressive isn't designed for. ₸95,900 per pair in 1.50, ₸142,900 for the 1.60 version. For impact scenarios, look at polycarbonate: 10× stronger than standard lenses.
The complete-glasses tariff plus an upgrade: the chosen pair's price minus the ₸4,000 base lenses. Example: a NEGIZGI-group frame with Gross DRIVE 1.50 — 9,900 + (29,900 − 4,000) = ₸35,800 for complete glasses with the headlight filter. The total is always visible before payment — no "from".
